Nika Friday - Save it for a Rainy Day http://ift.tt/1EDxRzr @lnohara95 #blogging

It's time for Nika Friday. Apologies for cancelling it last week, I fancied doing my Blogger Meetup post first and told Nika this Friday is hers! Sorry for not posting anything this week, I was going to post on Wednesday but sadly I had no internet and really felt guilty I let you down.

Hope you're not too mad at me.

This title fits perfectly with the English weather today. Rain, rain, shitty rain.

Here's Nika's Post!

Save It For A Rainy Day
At the beginning all the decisions seemed easy. You’ve fallen in love, decided to start a relationship, to get married, opted for the wedding style and location and all the other small wedding decisions, and then what? All of your choices led you to this point, where you are living with your chosen one in a marriage that should be happy. Turns out, that happiness in a marriage doesn’t come without some effort. You’ll be facing with many bumps on the road, but don’t let that intimidate you, it is quite normal. The important thing is to know how to overcome those obstacles, and always have a small amount of happiness and love up your sleeve for all of the rainy days to come.

Now, how to, in the most difficult moments and in the loudest arguments, when you can’t even stand to look at your partner’s face, pull out that ace from your sleeve and cure the argument with happiness and love? It’s really quite easy. You should just remember who is the guy/girl you’ve fallen in love with, and all of the small reasons why that happen. Remember the moment when he jumped over the fence to pluck you a dandelion? Remember when she made that silly cartoon of your love story for you. No, that guy/girl couldn’t be responsible for all that is wrong with the world, you can see that now. Don’t forget you’ve once promised to love and cherish each other, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health till death separates you. Try your best to fulfill your promises, and you’ll both have a chunk of love and happiness up your sleeve.

The small rituals you and your partner create make a huge difference. Kissing your partner for good morning, good night, goodbye and welcome is one of those small things that matters the most. It is important also because of tendency of married couples to stop kissing over time. The worst thing is that people accept that as a normal and natural process, when it really isn’t so. You should never allow resentment and indifference to invade your relationship, without putting up a fight. If you notice a change like this, discuss the topic with your partner, but make sure you do it with patience and understanding, without raising your voice. Kissing is a form of intimacy that sometimes can carry more emotions than sex. Exchanging kisses can often lead to intercourse, and having regular sex may lead to a happier and more connected relationship.

The main glue that sticks two people together in a union are respect and communication. Sure, love matters, but it is something that is evolving during time and becoming something much different than youthful passion, though it doesn’t necessarily exclude that feeling too. Talking about your ups and downs with your soul mate will create a stronger bond between the two of you. Small gestures which you make in order to make your partner happy, such as making him/her a morning coffee and saying “I love you” and making sure he/she understands the message, will improve your relationship in many ways. Never treat each other for granted, but take each other preciously. Respect your differences even though sometimes you don’t understand them, and support your partner in his/her goals.

We admit, it’s not an easy task to maintain a happy marriage, but the results you’ll accomplish are immeasurably bigger and better than the effort putted in it. Having someone to grow old with, who’ll hold your hand through the difficulties and hug you through all the fears is a really valuable prize, wouldn’t you agree?
