Last Friday I didn't post my guest blogger's post as, well, I am sorry I just didn't. Sometimes blogger's lose motivation and inspiration and I was going through a tough time. No posts for two days last week, at least you were all so supportive! Thank you for that!
Nika Friday is here today and it is all about Hobbies you should take up this summer! To be fair, these creations are adorable and I can guarantee either you, your friends, or your kids will love them as much as I do!
Here goes!
Hobbies to Take Up This Summer
(Pictures in thanks of pinterest.com)
Have you ever wondered how many opportunities there are out there that will forever remain in the field of dreams? Well, last summer, I decided to dedicate my time and willpower to crossing at least three of these things off my list. After all, the more you know, the more you are worth. The same goes for hobbies, especially when your free time is in question.
Still, it would be foolish of me just to select three completely random hobbies and try to make them real. First, I want to find something that I will have a real opportunity to try (this immediately crossed elephant polo off the list) and something that I’m bound to have fun doing. Here are some of most interesting ideas that crossed my mind.
Knitting
I understand this might not be what you first had in mind when I mentioned a fun summer hobby, but if you take just a minute to consider knitting, you will soon get to realize just what a perfect, relaxing activity it is. First of all, knitting is not as easy as it seems. To master this art, it takes a lot of effort, will, and above all, practice. So, get your basic supplies from one of the amazing yarn shops online and start knitting as soon as possible!
When you first start doing this, the technique itself will turn out to be so complex that it will require your undivided attention. Later on, you will be able to knit while doing various other activities. This is why it is a good idea to start with simpler concepts and set yourself bigger and bigger objectives after each finished work.
There are two things that I simply LOVE about this wonderful pastime. The first one is that knitting can in no time be transformed into a group activity. For example, this week I’m having my first knitting lesson and I’ve already invited two of my best friends to join me.
The second thing I found super-cool about knitting is that the result of your work is something you can always use or give as a present to your loved ones. What I’m planning to do is to start equipping my entire family, all my friends and even some pets with the apparel I’m going to make on my own.
Learn an exotic language
As I have already said, the more you know, the more you’re worth. There is no better indicator of how true this is than trying to learn an exotic language. I’ve always wanted to visit Thailand and I realized just how much more fun such a visit would be if I could speak the local language. So far, I have gotten as far as learning how to say “I have a red stick” in Thai, still, it’s the most fun I’ve had in years and I will not give up until I master it.
Try some origami
If you’ve always been a creative soul, maybe you should take up something that could both occupy your time in the +30 degrees and unleash your untiring imagination, such as origami. I’ve always been impressed with this amazing Chinese art and this summer, I’m finally going to learn how to make incredible and super-complex figures.
My plan is to master this ancient skill until the of the year, when I’m planning to decorate both my home and Christmas cards with magnificent origami items! Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?
Over the course of the years, if I have learned one thing, it is that sometimes having too many options can be as limiting as having too few. That’s when you have to learn to prioritize, which is always something you have to do on your own, since you alone are the one who knows your own priorities. I hope these few suggestions were at least of some help.
Much love,
