I remember not too long ago, a writer told me that when a Blogger has writer's block that they are not truly writers. Why did she tell me this? Because she made out like she was some incredible writer with creative ideas shooting out of her ears, left, right, and centre. Impossible, I thought.
Then she got me thinking. Was she right? To be a true writer do you really have to be creative twenty-four-seven? Is having a block in your creative road a block for your career? So many questions. But then I came to realise - people struggle and your creative streak does come to a pause; people can't always be creative and constantly write amazing content.
Yes, you may be on winner for now, but what happens when it comes to the point where you think: "fuck, i'm stuck(?)" Are you screwed for life? The answer is NO. Sometimes taking a hard earned break can help you refresh your mind and creative wheels. For myself, I had taken a few months out of Blogging last year, and I have to say, it was the best decision I made as I came back with a vengeance - my blog was finally back to a three day a week posting schedule and I had everything under control.
If you are struggling with your personal life
You can either jot everything down (if you are an open person like me) or you can take a pause and straighten everything out first before you get back into blogging again. Don't be scared of leaving your blog for a little bit; just let your readers know that you are going to take a certain amount out and they will understand - they know you're coming back and will wait for you!
If you are constantly doing sponsored posts
Don't get me wrong, sponsored posts help you out with your DA and SEO, but when it comes to your readers, they want the real you to come back every now and again. It's fine to do sponsored posts every once in a while as you can earn a bit more money on the side, but do you remember when your readers were getting to know and trust you? Yes? Well why would you cancel YOU out of your own blog?
If you are running out of things to blog about
When the time comes to a halt in your blogging niche, it's time to open a whole new book - find some kind of inspiration that can be both motivational and fun! Believe me, there are hundred of thousands of things to write about. It just takes one thing to switch that lightbulb on above your head. For me, I just let the creativity flow when the time comes. Don't rush ideas, as this will cause you to not be 100% in your post. If you let time and ideas come to you, then you will be sweating and shaking until your little fingers hit that ever-so orgasmic keyboard.
It's not everyday people get the chance to open their minds and create masterpieces, so at the end of the day, you can relax a little bit and find you and your own blog content. Don't let anyone tell you that you're not a real writer because you need a little break - I find it almost impossible to create article after article. Shit happens. People need to deal with it in their own way.
If you are one of the ones that criticize us bloggers, then F You. Having a break and then spending as much time needed on one article, could be twice - no - ten times more creative; informative; amazing; determined and much more interesting than yours.
You are your own kind of writer and I am proud of you. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Much love,
