Hey my lovely readers!
Today is going to be slightly different to Nika Friday. As you well know, Nika is my usual guest blogger on Fridays but there has been a hiccup; the talented Fiona is taking over today. I hope you don't mind the slight change? Believe me, you won't be disappointed. This post is something I have never blogged about, alternatively, who doesn't love a mix and match?
The subject today is: Favourite TV Shows. Who isn't obsessed with TV? We all sit down in the evening, with our wine or cups of tea, and relax infront of the TV to watch our must-see shows. Whether they are corn-dog, breath-taking, or plain ridiculous - we all have guilty pleasures.
Without further ado, here's Fiona's favourite TV shows.
Favourite TV Shows
I know I'm not alone when I say that there are some (read several) TV shows that you can watch from the beginning several times and not get bored of them. The next 3 are just that - the TV shows I watch when I'm looking for something comforting and that can form what has become known in my house as moving wallpaper. The shows that you have on whilst writing a blog post, browsing through Facebook and Twitter or even writing up uni coursework. I simply can't concentrate when it's too quiet - weird I know. Without further ado here is my list.

Rizzoli and Isles is nothing like the books on which it is based and thank god. The books are good, even readable but they don't have the same spark that the show does. It could be down to the actors or the writing. I don't know and I don't care - all I know is that I love this show and will admit to having a good cry when they aired the episode of the funeral of Barry Frost as it was easy to see the emotion was genuine and that they really were mourning the loss of a colleague, in the same way the audience was mourning the loss of a character and actor.

I love Castle and not just becasue Nathan Fillion is in the lead role. The acting is brilliant and the storylines whilst being the standard crime drama fodder they also tend to have a noticeable season arc which as a viewer makes it more interesting and means I'll keep watching. It also introduced me to the music of Jon Huertas (Javier Esposito) whose song Champion is referenced in this post here.

Now I know some of you may be ready to disown me, stop reading my blog and pretend I don't exist but please hear me out. I understand that the programme is nothing like the books and as a reader I should be appalled by this but strangely I'm not. They are they same team behind Dawson's Creek, The Secret Circle and some of the writer's used to work on Buffy and Angel. That is good enough for me and will keep me tuning in every week. Also I will admit that I am quite into the fantasy genre and that's one of the reasons that it interested me but it's not the only one - after One Tree Hill ended I needed a new high school drama show to watch and this was it.
What are the TV shows you watch religiously? Leave me a comment or find me on Twitter.
Hope you didn't mind the change, hopefully next Friday Nika will be back with one of her amazing posts again!
Much love,
